Steps to Sensory-Friendly Certification: Tier 1 and Tier 2

Enroll and Pay
Start your journey by purchasing your certification and enrolling in the program that fits your needs: Tier 1 or Tier 2.

Purchase Mandatory Training Memberships
The team members responsible for facilitating the live virtual assessment and implementing recommendations must all hold a Sensory Friendly Solutions All Access Training Membership. This membership is purchased separately and provides essential resources to ensure the success of your certification process.

Tier 1: Online Certification Process

  1. Complete the Questionnaire
    Provide detailed information about your event or location by filling out a comprehensive questionnaire. This ensures a thorough understanding of your current setup and needs.

  2. Submit Visuals
    Submit a video and photos showcasing your event or location. This visual documentation will be used for assessment purposes.

  3. Customized Report
    Receive a detailed report with actionable recommendations to enhance sensory accessibility, delivered by our sensory expert.

  4. Submit Your Questions
    After reviewing the report, submit your questions. You will receive a personalized videoĀ  recording and written answers from our, ensuring clarity and providing resources you can refer to anytime.

  5. Implementation and Attestation
    Implement the recommended changes and submit an attestation confirming their completion.

  6. Certification Badge
    Receive your Sensory-Friendly Certification Badge, valid for that year until December 31.

Tier 2: Virtual Live Certification Process

  1. Complete the Questionnaire
    Start by providing key details about your event or location in a detailed questionnaire.

  2. Schedule a Virtual Audit
    Book a live virtual walkthrough of your event or location with Christel Seeberger, our founder, CEO, and sensory expert. This session provides real-time feedback and detailed insights tailored to your specific needs.
    Note: Christel is based in the Atlantic Time Zone and supports events and locations globally. Scheduling will be arranged based on her availability.

  3. Customized Report
    Receive a comprehensive report summarizing the virtual audit, including tailored recommendations to enhance sensory accessibility.

  4. Live Q&A Session
    Following the customized report, participate in a live Q&A session with Christel. This allows for immediate clarification and ensures your teamā€™s full understanding of the recommendations.

  5. Implementation and Attestation
    Make the recommended changes and submit an attestation confirming their completion.

  6. Certification Badge
    Earn your Sensory-Friendly Certification Badge, valid for that year until December 31.

  • Tier 2: Youā€™ll book a live virtual walkthrough of your event or location with our founder and sensory expert. This session allows for real-time assessment and feedback.

What happens during the Q&A session?

  • Tier 1: After receiving your report, you can submit questions and receive a recorded video with written answers from our expert.
  • Tier 2: Youā€™ll participate in a live Q&A session with our expert to clarify recommendations and gain insights on implementation.

What if my event or location doesnā€™t pass the certification review?

  • If your event or location does not meet certification requirements, weā€™ll provide a detailed report with recommendations to help you improve. You can reapply once updates have been made.

Can I use the certification badge for marketing?

  • Yes! Once certified, you can display the “Sensory Friendly Solutions Certified with the year” badge on your marketing materials, website, and event/location signage for one year.

What happens if I make changes to my event or location after certification?

  • Substantial changes require a reassessment to ensure your certification remains valid. Additional fees may apply.

How do I renew my certification?

Yes, the session will be recorded, and an AI scribe will be used to capture detailed notes. These materials will help provide a thorough and actionable report after the assessment.

3. Who is responsible for obtaining permission for the live virtual assessment and recording?
It is your responsibility as the event or location organizer to obtain any necessary permissions for the live virtual assessment and recording. This ensures compliance with privacy and organizational policies.

4. What should I prepare before the virtual walkthrough?
Before the assessment, ensure your event or location is ready to be virtually toured. Prepare any specific questions or concerns you’d like addressed during the session to make the most of the expert’s time.

5. What happens if I encounter technical issues?
In case of technical difficulties, please notify us immediately. We will work with you to reschedule or troubleshoot as necessary to complete the assessment effectively.

6. How will the findings of the assessment be shared?

Terms and Conditions for Sensory-Friendly Certification Program

Eligibility

  1. The certification program is open to events, locations, and organizations of all sizes.
  2. Participants must complete all required steps for the selected Tier (Tier 1 or Tier 2) to be eligible for certification.
  3. Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to refuse any application for certification or renewal at its sole discretion without providing a reason.

Fees and Payments

  1. All fees, including the Certification Fee, Annual Renewal Fee, and All-Access Training Membership fees, are non-refundable.
  2. Certification Fee (Year 1):
    • Tier 1: $999 CAD plus tax
    • Tier 2: $1999 CAD plus tax
  3. Annual Renewal Fee: $199 CAD plus tax
  4. Mandatory All-Access Training Membership: $119 CAD per person per year plus tax (required for team members involved in virtual sessions and implementation).
  5. Payments must be made in full at the time of enrollment.

Program Requirements

Certification Badge

  3. Misuse of the certification badge, including use after expiration, will result in legal action.

Annual Renewal

  1. Certification renewal requires the submission of an updated attestation confirming no significant changes to the event or location.
  2. Renewal fees must be paid annually to maintain certification.
  3. Significant changes to the event or location require reassessment, which may incur additional fees.
  4. Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to refuse renewal at its sole discretion.

Program Limitations

  1. Certification does not guarantee compliance with local or national accessibility regulations.
  2. The program provides recommendations and resources based on sensory-friendly practices but does not include enforcement or liability services.
  3. Certification is based solely on the materials and information provided by the participant. Inaccurate or incomplete submissions may affect results.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

  1. Virtual audits and Q&A sessions (Tier 2) can be rescheduled with at least 72 hoursā€™ notice.
  2. Failure to appear for a scheduled session without prior notice will result in forfeiture of that session without refund.

Intellectual Property

  1. All reports, recommendations, and training materials provided by Sensory Friendly Solutions are proprietary and may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without explicit permission.
  2. Certification participants may use provided resources only for internal purposes related to their event or location.

Refusal of Service

  1. Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to refuse service to any applicant, participant, or organization at any stage of the certification or renewal process at its sole discretion.
  2. Grounds for refusal may include, but are not limited to, incomplete submissions, failure to comply with program requirements, or actions inconsistent with the values and mission of Sensory Friendly Solutions.

Liability

  1. Sensory Friendly Solutions is not responsible for any damages, liabilities, or losses arising from the use of certification recommendations or the implementation of sensory-friendly practices.
  2. Participants are solely responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations.

Changes to Terms
