Steps to Apply
Make Your Purchase
- Buy the Product Recognition Assessment. This includes the application and review process and your first year badge, if approved.
Mail Your Product
- After purchase, you’ll receive our mailing address. Send one product to us for review at your expense. You will be billed for any additional shipping, customs duties, or any other fees incurred and the assessment will not proceed unless these additional fees are paid.
Product Review
- We’ll assess your product for sensory-friendly features across the eight senses, ensuring it supports people with sensory sensitivities and those affected by 25+ disabilities.
Within 4 weeks, we’ll notify you of the result:
- Approval: You’ll receive a report detailing your product’s sensory-friendly features and the “Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized” badge with the current year.
- Not Approved: We’ll share feedback and suggestions to improve your product’s sensory-friendly potential.
Renew Annually
- To maintain your recognition, submit an attestation that the product has not changed, pay the annual renewal fee, and receive the updated badge with the next year.

- No Guarantee: Purchasing the assessment does not guarantee recognition.
- Customs and Shipping Fees: You are responsible for sending your product to our office in Canada, covering all shipping costs, customs, or duties.

Terms and Conditions for the Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized Product Program
These terms and conditions govern your participation in the Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized Product Program (“Program”). By purchasing and submitting your product for review, you agree to the following:
1. Program Overview
- Participation in the Program does not guarantee product recognition or badge approval.
- Recognition of a product through this Program is not a guarantee of the product’s performance or safety, nor is it an endorsement of the company that manufactures or distributes the product.
2. Application and Fees
- Application Fee (Year 1): The fee to apply and have your product evaluated is $499 CAD. This fee covers the initial assessment and, if approved, the first year of recognition until December 31 of any given year. The fee is non-refundable.
- Renewal Fee: To maintain recognition beyond the first year, an annual renewal fee of $99 CAD is required.
- Pricing Changes: Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to change pricing or program requirements at its sole discretion.
3. Product Submission
- Sample Requirements: You must send one sample product for assessment.
- Shipping Responsibility: All shipping costs, customs, and duties must be prepaid by you. Sensory Friendly Solutions is not liable for delays, loss, or damage during shipping.
4. Evaluation Process
- Products are reviewed for sensory-friendly features across the eight senses, potential mitigation of sensory sensitivities, and suitability for individuals with sensory differences.
- Outcomes of the review include:
a) Approval: You receive a report detailing the sensory-friendly features and access to the recognition badge for the first year.
b) Not Approved: Feedback is provided, but fees are non-refundable.
c) Recommendations: Suggestions for improving sensory-friendly features may be offered.
5. Recognition Badge
- Approved products are eligible to display the “Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized” badge for the year it is approved.
- The badge is issued for the specific approved product and must not be used for other products.
- Misuse: Misuse of the badge, including applying it to unapproved products or using it in an unethical or misleading manner, will result in immediate revocation of recognition.
- Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to cancel recognition and require the participant to cease and desist all badge usage if the badge is used in a way that is deemed unethical, misleading, or harmful.
6. Renewal Process
- Recognition is valid up to one year, until December 31 of the year of application. Starting in year two, renewal requires payment of the $99 CAD annual fee and an attestation that the product remains unchanged.
- Substantive changes to the product require a new review at a reduced fee.
7. Disclaimer of Responsibility
- No Endorsement: Recognition by Sensory Friendly Solutions is not an endorsement of the product or the company that manufactures or distributes it.
- No Guarantee: Recognition does not guarantee the safety, effectiveness, or suitability of the product.
- No Liability for Product or Company: Sensory Friendly Solutions assumes no responsibility for any product or the company manufacturing or distributing it, nor for any damages caused by the product or the company.
8. Limitation of Liability
- Sensory Friendly Solutions is not liable for any claims, damages, or losses arising from:
a) The use of your product.
b) The decision to approve or not approve your product for recognition.
c) Shipping delays, damages, or loss of submitted products.
d) The use of the “Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized” badge, including any legal, reputational, or financial consequences resulting from misuse or misrepresentation.
9. Intellectual Property
- The “Sensory Friendly Solutions Recognized” badge and associated materials remain the intellectual property of Sensory Friendly Solutions.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the badge for the approved product during the recognition period.
10. Modifications to Terms and Pricing
- Sensory Friendly Solutions reserves the right to modify these terms, pricing, or program requirements at its sole discretion. Updates will be communicated to participants and published on our website.
11. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Brunswick, Canada. Any disputes arising from participation in the Program will be resolved in New Brunswick courts.
