Jumping Jacks Children’s Boutique is a locally owned, quality children’s and maternity consignment boutique. We are also proud to carry an extensive variety of locally made items.

Established in 2018, Jumping Jacks is a unique children’s boutique that loves to give back. Our clothing donation program helps foster families, NICU at our local hospital, clothing bank at our nearest elementary school and NBACL through their clothing donation pick-up program.

We have two charity consignment accounts that benefit both OPAL family services and Autism Connection Fredericton, as organizations that serve special needs families is close to our heart. We now carry sensory products from FDMT as well as custom weighted blankets & lap pads.

We are excited to host our first Sensory Friendly Community Fundraiser on August 18th where we will be welcoming several emergency vehicles that have agreed to not turn on sirens, bright lights, horns, etc.

Q Why have you chosen to be a sensory friendly business?

I have three boys, two with an ASD diagnosis but certainly on different ends of the spectrum. I understand what it is like to shop with kids, but also kids with exceptionalities. I understand bolting which is why the play area is in the middle of the store. I speak ASD terminology fluently, and am by no means an expert, but when a parent comes in the store looking for a product or community connection I am happy to help.

Q What made you decide to plan the Sensory Friendly Community Fundraiser?

I want to give back to the community on our one year anniversary. I wanted to create an event where all children can feel comfortable exploring and experiencing a few emergency response vehicles. Many children are sensitive to loud noises and I wanted to take that worry away. The event will be free but we are asking for non-perishable breakfast food items for Priestman St. School breakfast program.

Q What is your long term vision for inclusion at Jumping Jacks?

Last year I had a grade 12 student with Down Syndrome from the local high school who came to our store most days as part of her Career Exploration class. It was a wonderful experience and she thrived in the retail environment. I hope to continue hosting students with exceptionalities as it benefits the employer, community as well as the student themselves.
